Leonor Murciano

Biography: Leonor Murciano, daughter of Guillermo García-Tuñón and Leonor Brown, is the great-granddaughter of the well-known Spanish artist Evaristo Valle. His creations are displayed at the Museo Evaristo Valle in Gijon, Asturias, as well as in other museums around Spain.

Leonor was born in Havana, Cuba. In 1960, together with her parents and eight brothers and sisters, exiled to Spain, resided in Asturias and later in Madrid. In 1968, the entire family moved permanently to Miami, Florida. Leonor portrays realism in her oil paintings. She is fundamentally self-taught and has perfected her skills under the supervision of Spanish artist Maribel Cortes. Leonor’s passion and ability to create have shown since a small age.

Her work is very versatile, loves to portray people in her paintings from different cultures and ethnic groups around the world, emphasizing in light and color. She also enjoys the challenge in creating portraits. This specialized art has given her great accomplishment.

Leonor is also a member of Art Committee of Kiwanis Club of Little Havana.
