MEDWeek Minority AwardMiami, Florida — Lemartec, with operations on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, was awarded the 2018 Florida Minority Construction Firm of the Year Award by the U.S. Department of Commerce – Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Export Center.

Lemartec was recognized for their outstanding performance in the construction sector as an active Minority Business Entrepreneur (MBE) in the hurricane disaster recovery process in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The MBDA National Minority Business Awards Program is the highest level of national recognition that a U.S. minority-owned firm can receive by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The award was presented at a ceremony during National Minority Enterprise Development Week in Miami, Florida, also known as National MED Week, observed across the U.S. to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of the minority business enterprise community.

“This award confirms that Lemartec is a significant contributor to the recovery of the U.S. Virgin Islands community,” said Mr. Manuel R. Garcia-Tuñon, President of Lemartec. “This recognizes everyone on my team that makes Lemartec’s continued growth possible. As a newly acquired MasTec company, this honor goes to our 20,000+ MasTec team members around the country and the world.
