Emergency Recovery
We understand the challenges and complexities of disaster program management and the importance of accelerating the recovery process of governments and the communities impacted by natural disasters. People need infrastructure that withstands nature forces and that can reliably continue to operate during these emergency occurrences.
What sets us apart from other construction firms is our direct experience successfully implementing an Emergency Recovery Program, so we know its common obstacles and risks and what it takes to bring back to normal an entire community after a natural catastrophe. Our team is currently rebuilding 120 properties owned by the U.S. Virgin Islands Port Authority, which were damaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, by providing Emergency Program Management, inspections and reconstruction services. Lemartec swiftly responded and mobilized soon after the hurricanes hit the islands.
In addition, for over four decades, our team has been delivering hurricane and seismic resistant facilities. The ability to produce such resilient infrastructure is attributed to our in-house team of Steel Building Systems and Construction experts. Together, we form a powerhouse team of design and construction professionals, ready to respond to the needs of the community.

Our work at the U.S. Virgin Islands
Lemartec USVI, Inc. was selected by Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) to provide Program Management for the repairing and re-building of 120 property assets that sustained damages caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria during the 2017 hurricane season. Some of the tasks within the Program includes a complete re-roofing of Airport Terminals Cyril E. King Airport (CEKA) and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (HERA); the total reconstruction of butler-type warehouse buildings (concrete foundation & floor slab with steel superstructure and metal sheathing); the total reconstruction of interior spaces; the replacement of key buildings with modular structures, including St. John’s Customs House, St. John’s Marine House, and St. Thomas Purchasing Building, among others.
Under the Lemartec USVI Total Program Management delivery method (TPM), our project team is able to efficiently manage multiple design and construction teams, and coordinate the vast number of sub-contractors and trades necessary to simultaneously design, permit, and construct at each VIPA property location.
In harmony with the VIPA team, Lemartec USVI is able to successfully meet objectives established for each project site and consistently deliver on schedule and within the established budget.
