On April 28th, 2014, Lemartec celebrated with BRPH the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kathrein telecommunications manufacturing plant in Tlaxcala, Mexico – a new 137,000 SF antennae production facility. As the project’s General Contractor, Lemartec will serve as a direct extension to the BRPH team who will provide full architectural and engineering design services as well as complete development and program management.

The 26 million euro facility (approx. 35 million US dollars), a first of its kind for the owner in this location, will create upwards of 350 new jobs in the local area. The facility will be used to manufacture advanced telecommunications equipment.

Facility owner, Kathrein, is one of the world’s market leaders in developing, manufacturing and selling a wide array of antenna systems and electronic components. The company consists of 22 plants worldwide and caters to industry leaders such as Ericsson, Audi, Volkswagen and BMW.

The design and program management phases have already started and building completion is expected in 2015.
