Lemartec USVI, Inc. was selected by the Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) to provide Program Management Services for the repairing and re-building of assets that sustained damages caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, during the 2017 hurricane season, to the 118 locations that make up VIPA’s property assets. The scope of this projects includes the re-roofing of both Airport Terminals; the Cyril E. King Airport (CEKA) and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (HERA), the total reconstruction of butler type warehouse buildings (concrete foundation & floor slab with a steel superstructure and metal sheathing), the total reconstruction of interior spaces, and the replacement of three buildings with modular structures: a) Customs House on St. John approx 2,500SF, b) Marine House on St. John approx 2,500SF, c) Purchasing Building on St. Thomas approx 2,500SF.
Under the LEMARTEC USVI TOTAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT delivery method (TPM), our project team is able to efficiently manage multiple design and construction teams and coordinate the vast number of sub-contractors and trades necessary to simultaneously design, permit, and construct each one of the 118 locations. Our project management team was ready for action and quickly integrated into the client’s existing construction department. In harmony with the VIPA team, Lemartec USVI is able to successfully meet objectives established for each project site, and more importantly, also able to consistently deliver on schedule and within the established budget. Lemartec was recently awarded the St. Croix Port Container Cargo Facility as part of the USVI CMAR Hurricane Recovery program. The program consists of the development of a new state-of-the-art 50,000 high bay multi-tenant cargo container facility VIPA port offices, CBP & TSA offices in a secure direct wharf accessible operations area supporting the STX Port complex.
